LumiLinna SnowCastle — Kemi, Finland

Another impressive snow complex in Kemi, LumiLinna is the oldest and largest snow castle in the world, built annually since 1996. Unlike the more artistic SnowCastle, LumiLinna is more like a real medieval castle, with walls up to 20 meters high, towers, courtyards and labyrinths. The hotel offers two types of rooms: group "Snow Adventure" rooms and more private "Snow Suites", all decorated in a medieval theme. The castle restaurant specializes in traditional Lappish dishes, including reindeer and arctic fish. There is a strong focus on family fun, with numerous snow slides, an ice rink and daily shows for children. A unique feature is the opportunity to take a sea cruise on the real icebreaker "Sampo" with a swim in the Gulf of Bothnia in special thermal suits.

Arctic SnowHotel & Glass Igloos — Rovaniemi, Finland

Located in the "official" birthplace of Santa Claus, Arctic SnowHotel offers a combined experience: one night in a traditional snow hotel and one in a glass igloo for viewing the Northern Lights. The snow hotel has 30 rooms of various categories, all with a temperature of -5°C and decorated by local artists with snow reliefs and ice sculptures. A unique feature is the ice restaurant with a five-meter dome and a "Northern Lights on request" system - guests can leave a request and the staff will wake them up if the Northern Lights appear. The complex also offers Finland's largest ice sauna, where hot steam combined with ice walls creates a unique experience, and a traditional Finnish smoke sauna by the lake.

Icehotel Romania — Balea Lac, Romania

The first and only ice hotel in Eastern Europe, built on the shores of the frozen glacial lake Bălea Lac at an altitude of 2,034 meters in the Fagaras Mountains. The hotel is built each year from ice blocks cut from the lake and is usually open from the end of December to the end of April. The interiors, created by Romanian sculptors, reflect local Transylvanian motifs, including, of course, the vampire theme associated with Count Dracula. The hotel is small - only 10 rooms with traditional ice beds covered with fur blankets. The location next to the Bălea Lac ski resort makes it attractive to skiers, and the proximity to the medieval city of Sibiu (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) adds a cultural dimension to the ice adventure. Evenings are often accompanied by tastings of traditional Romanian ţuica (plum vodka) and performances by local musicians.
